In order to preserve the oral history and narrative elements I created a bound book with Adode Garmound for the body face to convey a solid traditional feel but still have soft round edges for its storytelling nature. The typefaces use a hierarchy with varying weights. With the design layout I used layer variations to create a generational feel and a traditional grid format to manage content. The book’s art direction oscillates between each family member using images as a point of interest.
